MacKenzie Entwistle will play at Blackhawks prospect camp

Chicago Blackhawks fans won’t have to wait long to see newly-acquired prospect MacKenzie Entwistle play.

Entwistle, who was part of Chicago’s seven-player trade with the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday, will play at the Blackhawks’ prospect camp next week at MB Ice Arena, reports Mark Lazerus of The Chicago Sun-Times.

The sessions will be 1-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, followed by a 9:30 a.m. scrimmage Friday. The roster for the camp includes 42 players, including 32 Chicago draft picks and all eight selections from last month’s draft.

Entwistle, who turns 19 on Saturday, is a big-bodied right-handed shot at 6-foot-3 and 174 pounds. Arizona selected him No. 69 overall in the 2017 NHL draft.

Tom Hunter of SB Nation’s Mile High Hockey offers some insight into Entwistle.

After the draft, he scored 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) in 49 regular-season games for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Ontario Hockey League. He added 10 goals in 17 playoff games as the Bulldogs won the OHL championship.
