Forbes’ 2019 most valuable NHL teams: Blackhawks stay at No. 4

Despite missing the playoffs the past two seasons and currently being out of the playoff picture this season, the Chicago Blackhawks’ value continues to rise.

According to Forbes, the Blackhawks are the NHL’s fourth-most valuable franchise at $1.085 billion, which is a 3 percent increase from last year’s $1.05 billion. Only the New York Rangers ($1.65 billion), Toronto Maple Leafs ($1.5 billion) and Montreal Canadiens ($1.34 billion) are valued higher than Chicago.

The Boston Bruins’ run to the 2019 Stanley Cup Final helped them become the fifth NHL franchise to reach $1 billion mark.
