Blackhawks’ Gustav Forsling out with upper-torso injury vs. Penguins

Defenseman Gustav Forsling will not play for the Blackhawks against the Penguins on Sunday night due to a upper-torso injury, the team announced prior to puck drop.

Forsling has two goals and four assists in 19 NHL games this season. He has primarily skated with veteran Brent Seabrook in a second pairing role.

Brandon Davidson will skate in Forsling’s place on the blue line. Davidson was activated from injured reserve three days ago after having right knee surgery in late November.

The 27-year-old Davidson has one assist in seven games during his first season with the Chicago. He signed a one-year contract worth the league minimum after making the team on a professional-tryout contract during training camp.
