Happy birthday, Jonathan Toews!

Jonathan Toews has played nine seasons in the NHL. It’s hard to believe it’s already been this long, but here we are: today, the Chicago Blackhawks‘ captain turns 28 years old. He kicked off his professional career as a 19-year-old back in the 2007-08 season, and hasn’t looked back since.

Over that time, Toews has won:

  • A lot of hockey games
  • Two Olympic Golds
  • A Selke Trophy
  • The Conn Smythe
  • Three Stanley Cups/

That’s more than most have won over the past several seasons. Probably only Duncan Keith has won more over the same time frame, and they’re teammates, so it kind of comes with the territory.

As a 28-year-old, Toews has scored 251 goals and 564 points over the course of 645 NHL games. This doesn’t include the playoffs, over which he has 39 goals and 108 points through 124 games. Plus, you know, all those championships and trophies and stuff.

The happiest of birthdays to the Blackhawks’ leader! May there still be a hell of a lot more good to come for one of the best.
