Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane are 2015’s top-selling NHL jerseys

Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane remain the most popular duo in the NHL. The Blackhawks forwards were No. 1 and No. 2 in NHL jersey sales for 2015, according to the list released by the league Friday. Toews’ No. 19 was the NHL’s top-selling sweater, while Kane’s No. 88 came in second.

The news is largely unsurprising given that Toews and Kane are the two best players on one of hockey’s marquee franchises. The forwards led the Blackhawks to their third Stanley Cup together in 2015 and are set to represent the team at the 2016 NHL All-Star Game later this month.

Kane remains one of the league’s most popular players despite a criminal investigation into an accusation of sexual assault made against the superstar winger during the offseason. No charges were made based on the allegations, however, and Kane has continued suiting up for Chicago. The winger is in the midst of a career year with a league-leading 60 points in 42 games.

Apparently his jersey is still selling, which isn’t surprising given how many Kane jerseys I still see when walking around Chicago. I’m sure that some fans have decided to put away the No. 88 after everything that happened but this is the latest example showing that Kane remains popular among fans.
