Elsewhere in Chicago sports, the Sky were eliminated from the playoffs with a 93-92 second-round loss to the Aces after Courtney Vandersloot’s turnover in the final 10 seconds. Eddy Piñeiro kicked a game-winning 53-yard field goal to lift the Bears to a 16-14 victory over the Broncos. Alyssa Naeher had a six-save shutout in the Red Stars’ 3-0 win over Sky Blue FC. The Cubs swept the Pirates with a 16-6 win. The White Sox lost 11-10 to the Mainers on a walk-off walk.

On Monday, the Cubs continue their homestand with a series against the Reds. The White Sox head north to play the AL Central Division champion Twins.
