Artur Kayumov recorded two shots on goal in Lokomotiv Yaroslavl’s 5-2 loss to Spartak Moscow. Andrei Altybarmakyan had one shot on goal in Sochi’s 3-2 win over Nizhnekamsk.
Blackhawks prospect Roope Laavainen (HPK) play HC Pilsen at 11 a.m. and Victor Ejdsell (Färjestad BK) face off against HC Ambrí-Piotta at 11:30 a.m. in Champions Hockey League action.
Elsewhere in Chicago sports, the White Sox fell 8-6 to the Indians.
On Thursday, the Bears open the season at home against the Packers. The White Sox close out a series in Cleveland. The Cubs start an eight-game road trip with a four-game set against the Brewers.
