Morning Bag Skate: 7-31-19

Chris Kunitz retired from the NHL and joined the Blackhawks coaching staff as a player development adviser Tuesday. Kirby Dach scored two goals and an assist in Canada’s 4-1 win over the United States at the World Junior Summer Showcase.

Elsewhere in Chicago sports, the Sky fell 110-94 to the Connecticut Sun. Yu Darvish gave up a homer to Paul Goldschmidt in the sixth in the Cubs’ 2-1 loss to the Cardinals. The White Sox tossed up back-to-back homers in the 11th inning against the Mets in a 5-2 loss.

On Wednesday, the Fire’s Bastian Schweinsteiger and the MLS all-stars will play Atlético Madrid at Exploria Stadium in Orlando. The Cubs and White Sox both play.
