Elsewhere in Chicago sports, Red Stars goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher gave up her first goal of the World Cup in the United States’ 2-1 win over Spain to advance to the quarterfinals against host France. The Cubs toppled the Braves 8-3. The White Sox fell 6-5 to the Red Sox on a bases loaded infield single.

On Tuesday, the Cubs and White Sox both play.
