Chicagoland native Kendall Coyne Schofield set the hockey world a buzz when she became the first woman to compete in the NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Friday at SAP Center in San Jose. The Palos Heights, Illinois native took seventh place in a time of 14.346 seconds to top Arizona’s Clayton Keller. Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane was second in the Puck Control Challenge to Calgary’s Johnny Gaudreau.
The NHL All-Star Game will be at 7 p.m. Saturday on NBC.
