Peter Holland signs 2-year deal with KHL’s Avtomobilist

Peter Holland is heading to Russia next season after signing a two-year deal with the KHL’s Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on Wednesday.

Holland scored seven goals and 16 points in 21 AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs. The Blackhawks acquired the 28-year-old center from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Darren Raddysh in February.

Raddysh had one goal and four points in 22 games for the Rangers AHL affiliate in Hartford. He has one year left on his contract.

Holland — who has 85 points in 266 NHL games with Anaheim, Toronto, Arizona and the Rangers — is the third player to leave the IceHogs this offseason. Forwards Jordan Schroeder and Victor Ejdsell signed with the KHL’s Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and Swedish Hockey League’s Färjestad BK, respectively. Winger Fredrik Olofsson, a 2014 fourth-round draft pick by Chicago, also inked a deal with MODO Hockey in Sweden’s second division after he was released from his tryout contract.
