Stanley Cup Final

Florida Panthers at Vegas Golden Knights – 7 p.m. CT (TNT, TBS)

Vegas leads series 1-0

The Florida Panthers headed into the third period of Game 1 of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final tied 2-2 with the Golden Knights. While it certainly looked af if Florida could advance their 5-game playoff win streak, Vegas came out swinging in the third period, scoring 3 unanswered goals, sealing a 5-2 victory.

Vegas goaltender Adin Hill stood on his head, saving 33 of 35 shots and keeping both Panther stars Matthew Tkachuk and Sasha Barkov from finding the back of the net. Florida will need more production from their top six, as well as a better performance from goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, who’s .879 save percentage in Game 1 was less than impressive. The Panthers will also need to take full advantage of any power play opportunities they’re given. Otherwise, they could be heading back to Sunrise down 2-0 in the series, which has not been the case for them all post-season.

It should be a thriller at T-Mobile arena on Monday evening.
