How to watch Team USA unveil 2020 World Juniors preliminary roster

USA Hockey will unveil its preliminary roster for the 2020 World Junior Championship on Monday.

The announcement will start a 3 p.m. Central time on NHL Network’s “NHL Now,” with Team USA head coach Scott Sandelin (Minnesota Duluth coach) along with the network’s Jackie Redmond, E.J. Hradek and Billy Jaffe.

Blackhawks defenseman prospect Alec Regula is candidate for the team. He missed the World Junior Summer Showcase with a knee injury, but is averaging more than a point per game with the London Knights in his third OHL season.

The U.S. will host its training camp Dec. 16-17 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. After the camp, Team USA will head to the Czech Republic to play two pre-tournament games against Sweden at 11 a.m. Dec. 22 in Cesky Tesin then face Germany at 10 a.m. Dec. 23 in Havirov. USA Hockey will name its final 23-player roster by Dec. 24.

The U.S. will be in Group A in the preliminary round of the tournament with Canada, Czech Republic, Germany and Russia. Team USA has medaled in four straight years, including winning gold in 2017.
