Watch: Blackhawks’ Nick Schmaltz sets up Patrick Kane goal with incredible no-look pass
Wow.
Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Schmaltz is learning a thing or two from Patrick Kane.
Schmaltz connected an incredible no-look pass to Kane, who sent the puck past Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck for a 4-0 lead in the second period Thursday night in Winnipeg.

Schmaltz’s pass was great, but Kane’s reaction to it might have been better.

Earlier in the game, Schmaltz potted a goal of his own for a two-point night before the end of the second frame.
Schmaltz, Chicago’s 2014 first-round pick, is in his second season with the Hawks. He tallied six goals and 28 points in 61 games last season as he made his way onto the main roster. Entering Thursday night’s game, he has collected five goals and 17 points in 27 games as a mainstay on Chicago’s second line.
The Blackhawks went 1-4-0 in five meetings against the Jets a season ago. Chicago holds an 11-9 record all-time against Jets, including a 7-2 mark in Winnipeg.
