2020 Stanley Cup playoffs exhibition games: July 29 open thread

It’s a full day of hockey with six exhibition games on tap for Wednesday.

At Second City Hockey, we’re clearly focused on the Blackhawks game against the Blues but there are five others on the schedule.

Each conference as three games apiece, with the Eastern and Western conferences alternating each game in Toronto and Edmonton, respectively. The Lightning (round-robin team) and Panthers start the day then the Avalanche (round-robin) and Wild take the ice. The action returns to Toronto for Hurricanes vs. Capitals (round-robin) before the Blackhawks and Blues (round-robin) play in Edmonton.

It should be noted the Blackhawks’ game will be joined in progress on NBC Sports Network, so hopefully fans not in the Chicago market can turn to NHL Network or NHL.TV to watch the game early on.

The two New York teams, the Islanders and Rangers, close out the day in Toronto and the Canucks and Jets do the same in Edmonton. It’s the first day with more than two games on one sheet of ice. Let’s see how the ice holds up for those third games.
