Chicago added another European import during the second day of the 2023 NHL Draft, using its fifth-round pick (131st overall) on forward Marcel Marcel.

Marcel, who’ll turn 20 on Halloween, spent last season with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL, tallying 32 points (14 G, 18 A) in 52 games during the regular season, adding 8 points (3 G, 5 A) in 13 postseason games. He also played in seven games for his native Czechia’s World Juniors team, scoring 6 points (2 G, 4 A) during that tournament.
The primary things to know about Marcel is his size at 6-foot-4 and … 243 pounds!
Looks like he's an overager. Czech native who jumped over to Gatineau of the QMJHL this past season, playing with Hawks prospect Sam Savoie. He's also 6-4, 243 lbs — holy cow!
