Blackhawks recall David Rundblad, reassign Dennis Rasmussen and Bryan Bickell

The Chicago Blackhawks recalled defenseman David Rundblad from the Rockford IceHogs on Monday, reassigning forwards Dennis Rasmussen and Bryan Bickell to Rockford in the process.

Rundblad, 25, appeared in nine games with the Blackhawks in the early part of the season, recording two assists before being loaned to the ZSC Lions of the Swiss league. He returned to North America in March when he was reassigned to Rockford, where he recorded four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in 10 games.

Bickell has been back and forth between Rockford and Chicago quite a bit this season. The veteran winger and former playoff hero has recorded just two assists in 25 games with Chicago this season, and 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in 44 games with Rockford. He was recalled by Chicago last week to play in the final two games of the regular season.

Rasmussen, 25, has produced four goals and five assists in 44 games with Chicago this year. He appeared in 73 games with IceHogs last season, recording 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in his first full North American season.

The Blackhawks will visit the St. Louis Blues for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Game 1 of the series is at 8:30 p.m. CT Wednesday.
