Blackhawks sign 2021 second-round pick Colton Dach to entry-level contract

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Friday that they’ve signed 2021 second-round pick Colton Dach to an entry-level contract. It’s a three-year deal worth $870,000 annually.

Dach was selected in the second round (62nd overall) of the 2021 NHL draft, a pick the Blackhawks acquired as part of the Mattias Janmark trade with the Vegas Golden Knights. He produced 20 points (11 G, 9 A) in 20 games with the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL last season. For more insight into Dach as a player, check out this deep dive from July.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound center was recently traded from the Blades to the Kelowna Rockets after reportedly requesting a trade.

Dach is currently participating in the Blackhawks training camp with his older brother, Blackhawks center Kirby Dach. The younger Dach was held out of practice earlier in the week with an apparent shoulder injury but was back on the ice Thursday morning.
