Morning Bag Skate: Blackhawks fall into 3rd place; Schmaltz scores game-winner for North Dakota

Scott Darling allowed two late goals to Vladimir Tarsenko for the St. Louis Blues to beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-1, on Thursday night at the United Center.

Blackhawks’ prospect Nick Schmaltz scored the game-winning goal for North Dakota to beat Denver and advance to the NCAA national championship game against Quinnipiac. Schmaltz and fellow Hawks’ prospect Luke Johnson will play the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. CT Saturday.

USA Hockey will also announce its men’s national team head coach at 10 a.m. CT. Friday. The team will play in the men’s world championship in May.
