Morning Bag Skate: 7-1-19

The Blackhawks brought back two-time Stanley Cup champion Andrew Shaw from the Canadiens on Sunday. Chicago re-acquired the power forward and a 2021 seventh-round pick in exchange for 2020 second- and seventh-round picks and a 2021 third-round selection.

Elsewhere in Chicago sports, Sam Kerr scored a hat trick to lift the Red Stars to a 3-2 win at Orlando. The Sky fell 94-69 to the Sparks in Los Angeles. Lucas Giolito earned his league-leading 11th win in the White Sox’s 4-3 victory over the Twins. The Cubs’ comeback fell short in a 8-6 loss to the Reds.

On Monday, the Cubs head to Pittsburgh to start a series against the Pirates.
