Morning Bag Skate: Blackhawks vs. Blues set for first round; Kane wins Art Ross Trophy

Scott Hartnell scored his second goal of the game at 2:28 of overtime for the Columbus Blue Jackets to beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4 in overtime, in Chicago’s regular-season finale Saturday at Nationwide Arena.

The Blackhawks (47-26-9) will play St. Louis in the Western Conference first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Patrick Kane wrapped up the first Art Ross Trophy by an American-born player with two goals and an assist. Artemi Panarin had two goals and an assist, and finished his rookie season with 30 goals and 77 points.

Chicago prospect Nick Schmaltz recorded an assist in North Dakota’s 5-1 win over Quinnipiac in the NCAA national championship game. Fellow Hawks prospect Luke Johnson also won a national title with the Fighting Hawks, but did not play due to an left leg injury.
