Kevin Lankinen to represent Rockford IceHogs at 2020 AHL All-Star Game

Kevin Lankinen will represent the Rockford IceHogs at the 2020 AHL All-Star Game from Jan. 26-27 in Ontario, California.

Lankinen is 7-6-1 with a 3.04 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in 14 games this season. Milwaukee’s Connor Ingram is the Central Division’s other goaltender. Ingram is 11-3-3-1 with a 2.07 GAA and .932 save percentage in 18 games.


Rosters announced for 2020 AHL All-Star Classic


Hershey Bears (Capitals) forward Matt Moulson and Grand Rapids Griffiths (Red Wings) forward Matthew Ford will be the captains for the Eastern and Western conferences, respectively. Kris Knoblauch (Hartford/Atlantic), Chris Taylor (Rochester/North), Karl Taylor (Milwaukee/Central) and Jay Varady (Tucson/Pacific) have guided their teams to the best record in their respective divisions as of Dec. 31, 2019, and will coach each divisional All-Star team.

The Skills Competition will pit All-Stars from the two Eastern Conference divisions against those from the two Western Conference divisions in seven skills events Sunday, Jan. 26.

The AHL’s All-Stars will be divided into four teams, one representing each of the league’s four divisions, for the 2020 AHL All-Star Challenge on Monday, Jan. 27. The teams will participate in a round-robin 3-on-3 tournament featuring six games of 10 minutes each. The two teams with the best records at the end of the round-robin will face off for the championship, a six-minute game also played at 3-on-3.
